Dr. Isabella Menchetti is an emergency medicine resident at the University of Ottawa, Simulation Fellow with St. Michael’s Hospital and University Health Network, and a Master of Medical Education candidate at the University of Dundee. Throughout her residency, she has distinguished herself as a scholar, educator, and advocate, receiving the University of Ottawa PGME Communicator Competency Award as the sole recipient across all postgraduate programs in 2025.

Dr. Menchetti has made nationally recognized contributions to emergency medicine through her leadership in medical education, mentorship, and gender equity. Her research on gender differences in emergency medicine resident assessment was recognized as one of the journal’s most cited articles, and her work on improving feedback culture in emergency medicine culminated in a CAEP National Grand Rounds presentation, a peer-reviewed publication in CJEM, and invited presentations to physician and paramedic audiences. She also co-developed a national vertical mentorship program through the CAEP Women in Emergency Medicine Committee, expanding structured mentorship opportunities for medical students, residents, and staff physicians across Canada.
