Education Scholarship Committee

The CAEP Education Scholarship Committee advances excellence in emergency medicine education across Canada. The Committee supports educators, program leaders, and learners at all stages of training—strengthening teaching, fostering innovation, and promoting scholarly advancement in emergency medicine education.

Through collaboration, mentorship, and national dialogue, the Committee works to elevate the quality, impact, and reach of educational initiatives within emergency medicine.

Mission

The mission of the Education Scholarship Committee is to support and advance high-quality emergency medicine education and educational scholarship in Canada.

The Committee works to:

Support teaching programs and program directors in the education of medical students, EM residents, off-service residents, EM fellows, faculty physicians, community physicians, and allied health professionals.
Support specific emergency medicine educational programs, including ultrasound and simulation.
Promote scholarship in educational innovation through evaluation, research, and dissemination.
Promote the training and development of education scholars.
Foster the development of clinician teachers among emergency physicians and residents.
Conduct annual consensus conferences in association with the CAEP Scientific Conference to advance education, research, and leadership in emergency medicine.

Vision

The Committee envisions a nationally connected community of emergency medicine educators and scholars who lead innovative, evidence-informed teaching and scholarship.

Through collaboration, mentorship, and national engagement, the Committee strives to strengthen educational excellence, advance research and leadership in EM education, and support the development of the next generation of clinician educators across Canada.
