Mission
 

The mission of the CAEP Leadership Committee is to advance academic leadership in Canadian emergency medicine by supporting departments, divisions, and individual physician leaders.
 

The Committee works to:

• Maintain a database of academic activities, physician leaders, infrastructure, and resources at each Canadian medical school.

• Support academic EM departments, divisions, and units to ensure appropriate status, resources, and infrastructure.

• Promote the training and development of future academic leaders in Canadian EM.

• Encourage physician engagement with CAEP through membership and active participation.

• Advocate for strong representation of medical school and teaching hospital physicians on the CAEP Board.

The Leadership Committee envisions a connected, well-supported network of academic emergency medicine leaders across Canada. By fostering collaboration, professional development, and active engagement, the Committee aims to strengthen leadership capacity, advance the field, and ensure high-quality emergency care through effective academic governance.
