Dr. Véronique Castonguay is an emergency physician at Hôpital du Sacré-Cœur de Montréal, Program Director for the Royal College Emergency Medicine Residency Program at the Université de Montréal, and Director of the Centre de pédagogie appliquée aux sciences de la santé (CPASS). Widely recognized as one of Quebec’s leading clinician-educators, she has dedicated her career to advancing medical education, faculty development, and resident training. Her influence extends beyond emergency medicine through her leadership in educational programming, curriculum design, and faculty development initiatives across the Faculty of Medicine.

An innovative educator, Dr. Castonguay has developed numerous educational programs, including a comprehensive transition-to-practice curriculum for senior emergency medicine residents and a medical education curriculum offered across residency programs at the Université de Montréal. She has led faculty development initiatives locally, nationally, and internationally, delivered educational workshops in Canada, Tunisia, and Morocco, and played key roles in organizing major emergency medicine and medical education conferences, including the francophone track of ICEM 2025.
