Disaster Preparedness in Healthcare
CAEP and the Centre for Excellence in Emergency Preparedness (CEEP) is proud to present the Disaster Preparedness in Healthcare course. This online course is composed of five modules comprising 19 lectures that prepare individuals and organizations to respond when the inevitable healthcare disaster occurs.


At the end of the course the learner will be able to:

Identify the characteristics of medical disasters in general and key subtypes in particular

Identify the components of disaster response including the all hazard response

In their individual facility, use a risk assessment tool to predict the specific risks requiring more advanced planning

List the key components of an incident management system and disaster cycle

Comprehend the interactions between the multiple players in disaster response and be able to apply those interactions in developing a disaster plan
